This type of cereal is made of polished crushed kerns of hard wheat, which are preliminarily freed from germ, bran coverings and seed coats.
Depending on the type of processing there are two kinds of wheat groats – Artek and Poltavskaya.
Wheat groats Artek are small polished particles of crushed wheat kerns with removed germ and partially removed bran coverings and seed coats.
Wheat groats Poltavskaya №1 – wheat kerns with removed germ and with partially removed bran coverings and seed coats, polished, having an elongated shape with sharpened ends.
Wheat groats Poltavskaya №2 –medium-sized particles of crushed wheat kerns with removed germ and with partially removed bran coverings and seed coats, polished, having an oval shape with sharpened ends.
Wheat groats Poltavskaya №3 – medium-sized particles of crushed wheat kerns with removed germ and with partially removed bran coverings and seed coats, polished, having a rounded shape.
Wheat groats Poltavskaya №4 – small particles of crushed wheat kerns with removed germ and with partially removed bran coverings and seed coats, polished, having a rounded shape.
