These tiny yellowish red seeds are processed into valuable camelina oil with a rich, piquant taste. Nutritional and dietary value of camelina oil considerably outgoes sunflower oil. Aside from culinary use it is an ingredient for various medications, cosmetics, perfume and soap. Camelina oil is used in machine-building and as a raw material for paints, varnishes, alkyd resins. Byproducts of oil-extraction are traditionally used as a nutrient rich feed stuff for animals.
